HIFU Treatment Advice 

Before booking your HIFU face or body treatment with us, it is very important that you make yourself familiar with the below pre and post treatment advice to ensure that this treatment is still suitable for you.

HIFU Contraindications:

If you have any of the following health conditions then you are unable to have HIFU treatment.

• Liver or Kidney problems (This is for HIFU body treatments only)

• Heart or lung conditions including:

  • Those with pacemaker or other implanted electrical equipment​

  • Those reliant on artifical heart/lung machines, portableECG equipment or similar

• Auto immune disorders (including AIDS and HIV)

• Post invasive surgery (in the treatment area - You must wait 12 months before having HIFU)

• People with metal plates or join implants including permanent dermal implants (in the treatment area

• Intoxication or under the influence of drugs or alcohol

• Pregnancy or if you think you may be pregnant

• Under 18 years of age

Pre Treatment Advice:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment

• Ensure you have drank plenty of water

• Avoid sunbeds/direct UV exposure for a week prior to treatment

• Avoid chemical peels or exfoliants for 7 days prior to treatment

Post Treatment Advice:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours following your appointment (ideally 12 weeks for body treatments)

• Avoid hot water/extreme cold for 24hrs

• Avoid heat treatments for 24 hours (saunas, steam rooms etc.)

• Avoid sunbeds or direct UV exposure for 1 week

• Skin may feel dry so you should increase your water intake and apply replenishing/hydrating mask three times a week or apply hyaluronic acid daily

• Apply SPF or SPF moisturiser daily to keep the skin hydrated and protect it from UV rays

• Do not take asprin/other anti-coagulant medications as this can hinder the healing process

• Allow 2 weeks before or after IPL treatments in the area

• Allow 4 weeks before or after Micro Needling, Plasma, Derma Roller or similar treatments​
